Image to JPG Converter

Turn any picture - PNG, WebP, iPhone HEIC, GIF or BMP - into a JPG that opens anywhere. One image or a batch, converted on your device.

Any picture to JPG

JPG is the format every app, website, form and printer accepts. This converter turns any common picture into a JPG: add one image or a mix of formats, click Convert, and download a JPG or a ZIP of JPGs. The pictures are converted in this browser tab; nothing is uploaded.

What each format becomes

You addThe JPG
PNG, WebPThe same picture at the same size. See-through areas get the background colour you pick, white unless you choose another, because a JPG cannot be see-through.
iPhone photo (HEIC)A JPG that keeps the date the photo was taken and its colour profile. The location is removed unless you choose to keep it.
Animated GIF or WebPIts first frame. A JPG cannot move.
BMPThe same picture in a far smaller file: BMP stores every pixel uncompressed.
JPG, JPEG, JFIFKept byte for byte and only renamed to .jpg: JPEG and JPG are the same format. The photo details are cleaned as you choose.

We tested this on 31 October 2026 in Microsoft Edge. A PNG logo, a still and an animated WebP, an iPhone HEIC photo, an animated GIF and a BMP went in together. Six real JPG files came back in one ZIP.

Will the JPG be smaller?

It depends on what you start from. We converted real files at the default quality, 90, on 31 October 2026:

You addBeforeAfter
A 12-megapixel phone photo saved as WebP3.1 MB3.2 MB
An iPhone photo (HEIC)2.9 MB3.2 MB
A 1280 × 720 screenshot, PNG1.0 MB186 KB
The same screenshot as BMP2.6 MB186 KB
An animated GIF (first frame kept)296 KB9 KB

Screenshots, BMPs and GIFs shrink a great deal. Photos do not: WebP and HEIC are newer formats that store a photo more tightly than JPG, so the iPhone photo grew by about a tenth. You convert those for compatibility, not size. To bring a JPG under an upload limit, Compress JPG can aim for a size such as 200 KB; a lower quality on the slider here also gives a smaller file, with softer detail.

Text and sharp edges are where JPG is weakest: it can leave a faint haze around letters and lines. For logos, diagrams and text you will edit again, Image to PNG keeps every pixel.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert pictures of different formats at once?

Yes. Add PNGs, WebPs, iPhone photos, GIFs and BMPs together; each comes back as a JPG, and a batch downloads as one ZIP. In our test six pictures in five formats went in and six JPGs came out.

How do I change JPEG to JPG?

Add the .jpeg, .jfif or .jpe file and convert. JPEG and JPG are the same format with different names, so the photo is not saved again, which would only lose quality. Its picture is kept byte for byte and the file is renamed .jpg. In our test the picture data came back identical and the tag that keeps phone photos upright was kept.

What if I do not know what format my picture is?

It does not matter. The converter reads the format from the file itself, not from its name, so a picture saved with the wrong extension, or none, converts the same way.
